BASIC FUNCTIONS AND USES OF BLOCKCHAIN
AND CRYPTOCURRENCY

Presented by Attorney Sarah A. Sargent

An attorney at Godfrey & Kahn, S.C., Sarah Sargent is part of the Data Privacy & Cybersecurity
Practice Group where she advises clients on various data security and privacy issues, including
the EU’s preeminent GDPR. She regularly works with clients to create strategies and policies
that comply with emergent privacy laws while still allowing business leaders to accomplish
their goals. Sarah holds CIPP/US and CIPP/E certifications from the International Association
of Privacy Professionals.


She will discuss the basic processes behind blockchain, the uses of the technology, and the
impact on records management as well as the negative and positive implications of blockchain
implementation in different areas. The presentation will also discuss cryptocurrency, such as
bitcoin, and how it is being used today.


This will be an electronic meeting. You don’t even need to leave your office!
